Love Conquers All: American’s Will Make Surprising Sacrifices for One Common Kitchen Ingredient

With the holiday season swiftly approaching, the paramount concern for all Americans revolves around ensuring that every essential ingredient is readily available during the bustling cooking season. Yet, among all these ingredients, one stands out as the most crucial.

In a survey conducted by Kraft Fresh Take, it has been revealed that cheese holds a special place in the hearts and diets of Americans. An overwhelming 96% of the surveyed Americans identify themselves as cheese enthusiasts, with many willing to make surprising sacrifices to keep this favorite food staple in their lives.

The Love for Cheese:

The survey found that cheese reigns supreme in the American diet, with 57% of respondents willing to go to great lengths to keep cheese in their meals. Surprisingly, some would even give up their morning coffee for a year (39%) or their cell phones for a week (36%) to maintain their cheese consumption. This deep love for cheese is a testament to its importance in American culinary culture.

Sharing the Love:

Americans not only enjoy eating cheese but also love to share their culinary creations on social media platforms. More than half (51%) admit to taking photos or sharing their cheese-based meals on social networks like Facebook, while others opt for Twitter (21%), Instagram (17%), Pinterest (13%), and foursquare (9%) to highlight their cheese-infused dishes.

Kitchen Frustrations:

The survey also revealed that cooking at home is a customary practice, with 82% of Americans personally preparing meals at least half of the time. However, 83% of these at-home cooks experience various frustrations when cooking. Time (51%) and cleanup (58%) are the primary culprits, leaving many individuals seeking ways to simplify their cooking routines.

Monday and Friday Woes:

Interestingly, the survey showed that almost two in five respondents dread cooking at home the most on Mondays and Fridays (39% for both). These days seem to be when the desire for a quick and easy meal is at its highest.

Regional Food Associations:

The survey also delved into regional food associations, finding that Americans have strong connections to certain dishes based on their geographical location. For instance, 63% of Midwesterners associate burgers with their region, while Westerners have a penchant for tacos (53%). Southerners proudly identify seafood (36%) as their most representative local dish, and Northeasterners lean towards pasta (40%) as their area's dish of choice.
