B&J Food Equipment was started in Kansas City as a family-run business by Bill and Nancy Mosburg. The company began as a way to sell off used equipment from a small chain of restaurants.
Bill and Nancy’s son Scott joined the company and opened a smallwares and cash-and-carry store.
Bill and Nancy’s other son, Tom, and cousin Robert Pickering joined the company to become a full-service dealership, offering new and used foodservice equipment, smallwares, and a full-service shop for repairs, installation, and design.
The company expanded into St. Louis. This expansion allowed B&J to develop a distribution center to handle repeat chain business and distribution across the country. They also continue the cash-and-carry model with showrooms in both Kansas City and St. Louis.
B&J Food Equipment acquired by Innovative Foodservice Group and Nancy and Bill retire.
Family is still involved in all day-to-day operations and running of B&J Food Equipment.
B&J is part of the foodservice industries largest buying groups, ABC and IFED. Through these partnerships we can provide our customers with the best products and prices in the industry.
We are also part of the Innovative Foodservice Group, one of the largest foodservice distributors in the country. Through this partnership we have access to distribution centers and retail showrooms all throughout the entire Southeast in cities such as Tampa, Jacksonville, Ft. Myers, Greenville, Greenwood and Atlanta.
